About St Charbel Makhlouf

Born in Lebanon in 1828, St Charbel Makhlouf was a Maronite monk, priest and hermit who devoted his life to prayer, penance, silence and profound union with God. He was canonised by Pope Paul VI in 1977.

Since his death in 1898, an extraordinary devotion to St Charbel has spread throughout Lebanon and across the world, particularly among those praying for healing. More than 33,000 healing miracles have been reported in the records of the Monastery of Saint Maron in Annaya, Lebanon, attributed to his intercession, with countless other testimonies reported around the world.

The Cedar of Lebanon featured within this devotional kit reflects St Charbel’s Lebanese heritage and recalls the beautiful words of Scripture:
